Tupac Shakur Holographic Performance at Coachella 2012
Not sure what to say beyond the fact that a hologram Tupac still outdoes nearly every rapper who’s ever lived.
Fuck the world if they can’t adjust.
2pac - Keep Ya Head Up
I’ve been listening to a ton of early 2Pac lately, I think because I’m finding myself amped up about new hip hop and rap releases, only to find that a few listens later I’m bored with whatever it was that got me excited in the first place. In those times it helps to go back to the artists that laid your foundation for loving a particular genre. I’ll always be a Tupac guy.
Voodoo Farm - Roll Up (Wiz Khalifa & Tupac Remix)
Liam’s back with a gritty mashup of one of hip hop’s newest kings and (in my humble opinion) the genre’s Godfather. As is becoming his calling card, he’s put another video together, this time an intimate view into a couple’s ups and downs. Liam actually told me he cooked this up (track + video) two days and there’s really no question that this particular Wiz tune is better as a banger (sorry Wiz).
Mother Earth Remixes - And Then You (Tupac & Greg Laswell Mashup)
Greg Laswell is Ingrid Michaelson’s fiance. Killer voice, right? Tupac is, you know…my barometer for rap and/or hip hop. An artist I deeply respect and champion. Kudos to MER, who appears to be a student at Penn State, for putting these sounds together.
MIchael Jackson & 2pac - Smooth Criminal (Mashup by Cookin’ Soul)
This popped up on my playlist this morning and although it’s rough around the edges, the fact that I’ve watched This Is It like four times in the last three weeks means I have to post it. I consider MJ and Tupac to be two of the biggest losses to music in my lifetime.
