Raujika - Tell Them I Love You (feat. Nieve)
Nieve’s a hip hop artist in LA who’s been putting out some great music lately, but I can’t stop listening to his collaboration with Raujika, whom is a bit of a mystery beyond having released a free album which I’m really digging. Check this out…jazzy hip hop is always tasty.
Kooii - What On Earth
So good. This is the kind of stuff you throw on and its goes on repeat and you never get sick of it. It just blends into whatever you’re doing. This is a seven-piece band from Australia with an album coming out at some point this month.
Big ups to @hillydilly for hunting this.
Graffiti6 - Stare Into The Sun [snag] removed by request
I couldn’t do this song and band justice without writing a really, really long post here. This song has everything I love about music in it; soul, jazz, hip hop, funk, folk, pop, intelligence. It’s turned me on to a band I think is way, way ahead of its time. Spend time with them.
Prince - Wall Of Berlin [snag]
This takes us back to Prince’s 2009 release, LOtUSFLOW3R, which in my mind stands out as one of the best albums of that year (and one I continue to listen to start to finish). Some of my friends were a little overwhelmed at how adamantly I demanded they listen to the album, actually, mostly due to the way he’d wielded his guitar. Rumors of a Prince release next month seem untrue, but you never know with that guy.
NOTE: Prince doesn’t have an official website!
Word on the digital street is that Sia’s new album is the bomb diggity. I’ve been into Sia since I figured out who had the sexyface voice behind the tracks I was hearing on Zero 7’s albums an old friend of mine was feeding me. Everything she’s done since has been interesting, and I’m sure this new release will maintain that trend.
